TEMPLE SHALOM MEMBERSHIP

REGULAR MEMBERSHIP is open to any Jewish person who is eighteen (18) years or older. The spouse/significant other of a member of Temple Shalom may also become a regular member of Temple Shalom.
All regular members in good standing* shall enjoy the following privileges:
- One (1) vote any time the congregation needs to vote on an issue.
- Attendance at all regular meetings of the congregation and Board of Directors and the right to speak at these meetings during the Congregant Speak Out.
- Ability to participate in all activities sponsored by the congregation including MEMBER ONLY events. These activities and events include Book Club, Dine ‘n Schmooze, celebrations throughout the year, and the learning sessions by Rabbi Sherman to name a few.
- Reduced rates for most events and programs.
- Early registration for some events including the Mah Jongg Marathon.
- FREE High Holiday admission.
- Ability to have your family and friends in the Book of Remembrance which is read during Yom Kippur.
- The privilege of having an Aliyah at no additional charge.
- The use of the building for life cycle events for the member. (NOTE: A donation is appreciated.)
- Monthly reminders of upcoming Yahrzeit(s).
- Rabbi or lay leader performing your wedding, conversion, funeral/memorial service, Bar/Bat Mitzvah, etc. at no additional charge
- Emergency Contact Form (optional) for those who do not have family locally (see website or temple building for form).
ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP is open to any Jewish person who is eighteen (18) years or older whose legal residence is more than 75 miles from the location of Temple Shalom. The spouse/significant other of a member of Temple Shalom whose legal residence is more than 75 miles from the location of Temple Shalom may also become an associate member of Temple Shalom.
All associate members in good standing* shall enjoy the following privileges:
- One-half (1/2) vote any time the congregation needs to vote on an issue.
- Attendance at all regular meetings of the congregation and Board of Directors and the right to speak at these meetings during the Congregant Speak Out.
- Ability to participate in all activities sponsored by the congregation including MEMBER ONLY events. These activities and events include Book Club, Dine ‘n Schmooze, celebrations throughout the year, and the learning sessions by Rabbi Sherman to name a few.

*In Good Standing is defined as a member whose financial obligations are current.
ZOOM MEMBERSHIP is available to any Jewish person or Jewish family unit whose legal residence is more than seventy-five (75) miles from the location of Temple Shalom. Zoom membership is also available to those individuals who are housebound but want to be members and support Temple Shalom. With a paid Zoom membership, the Zoom member will have access to services, including High Holiday Services, via Zoom. A link will be emailed weekly for the Zoom associate members to sign on to Zoom for services. As a safety precaution, a new link will be sent each week. Please do not share the link.
ANNUAL DUES – The fiscal year of the congregation runs from July 1 through June 30. Annual dues may be paid for annually, semi-annually, quarterly, or, if using automated payments, monthly. Please let the Treasurer know if you are not paying annually.
First year dues are pro-rated and calculated as follows:
